The government is encouraging women to go back to college by offering Obama scholarships for moms. Mothers of all types have an opportunity to get a quality education. This will no doubt benefit their families and future employers.
Obama scholarships are made possible by federal Pell Grants. To encourage more moms to go back to school, President Obama and the government made some changes to these grants. Now Pell Grants worth over $5,000 can be awarded. That makes these grants worth more than $1,000 over the previous maximum. Because these grants are meant to help low-income students, that means many single mothers are eligible. That's why the government is encouraging moms to go back to school. Both moms who work and stay-at-home moms could benefit from having money to help them go to college.
